AGSnake: The Last Bite
The classic Snake game, with a few twists (power ups and downs, rocks to be avoided if you choose, adjustable game speed, collaborative two-player mode, highest scores - affected by how difficult you make the game - and longest snakes recorded for posterity)
Made with Adventure Game Studio, because I like using to for non adventure game stuff for some reason.

Web version seems to work well enough! (at least on my end)
You know, Tron lightcycles are just a couple steps away from snake....
Yes, my mind has been trying to convince me to work on that instead of other stuff for a while now!
Plan for update:
- Quit option
- Pause function
- Visible screen edge
Oh my poor nerves! Well done on yet another AGS game that does something completely different from what the engine was conceived for!
One quick suggestion: maybe put a border around the playing field or give it a non-black background. When I play it full-screen on my 16:10 monitor, I have to guess where the 16:9 playing field ends and I can crash into a wall that seems like it's not there.
Yeah I'll add that to my quick list of updates to make fo the game (quit option... oops!" - I can put a visible edge around the screen, it's not a problem I've run into in my own testing.
Fun! Hard for this old geezer, though. I kept halving my snake.
Maybe you were really unfortunate with the randomly generated effects and kept getting red pills?!?!?!
I had hoped that by including options to slow things down or speed them up, players should be able to reach a good balance no matter how powerful or ancient their hardware is.
Yup! So...I didn't carefully read the instructions? No, I just ate everything. :-D Still fun, though.
:-D
Yeah, there are power-downs as well as power-ups... a snake's gotta be careful!
This is great, I really like the power-ups and it's brilliant that you have made it in AGS!
Thanks so much for the comment! Snake is one of those classic game concepts that's entirely pure and just works in every generation / iteration. Glad you're enjoying it :-)
